Vellamo
The source of the water is a deep Ice Age ravine under Rääveli lake. In the early 90’s an artesian well was planned for the Viikinäinen holiday village, which is situated on the shores of Ala-Rääveli lake. By a stroke of luck the well was bored at the site where the deep rock fracture has an upward projection. The well was finished and it gave water at a level of 20 million liters annually. Vellamo has been found to be a very pure mineral water of high quality and it is Nitrate free.
According to the Geological Research Institute the water is about 5,000 - 8,000 years old and 15-30% of the water is more than 10,000 years old.
